Having found Sushant Singh Rajput’s body on 14th June 2020 a lot of water has rolled down the rivers. Initially it was reported that Sushant committed suicide out of depression. Then some film personalities and media houses hinted that Sushant was out of work which caused the depression. A lot of things were written on nepotism and celebrities like Karan Johar and Salman Khans were targeted and were accused for destroying Sushant’s career. Then the entire focus has been shifted on Rhea Chakraborty, Sushant’s girlfriend who was living in Sushant’s Bandra based apartment until 8th June 2020.
Sri Maheswar Hazari, Minister, Planning & Development Department of Bihar Government has accused Rhea Chakrabory for being a contract killer and that a gang has used Rhea for murdering Sushant. He further alleged that Rhea is a Vishkanya (Venomous damsel) who will kill many more to fulfill her ambitions. Hazari also accused Rhea of entangling Sushant with her love and embezzling Sushant’s money. But, Mr. Hazari has not produced any evidences in support of his allegations. It is up to the readers to decide whether it is appropriate to make such frivolous allegations when the investigation team has not said the final words.
A lot of memes accusing Rhea Chakraborty for killing Sushant are active on social media, some of which are extremely objectionable.
Sushant’s father KK Singh a retired engineer has filed an FIR on 25th July 2020 wherein several serious allegations have been charged against Rhea Chakraborty and five others including abetment for suicide. The FIR has been filed in Patna Rajibnagar Police Station under IPC Sections 341, 342, 380, 406, 420 and 306 as confirmed by Sanjay Singh, Inspector General of Police, Patna Central. Samuel Miranda was an employee of Sushant who is reportedly engaged by Rhea as house manager. Sushant was using a SIM card from December 2019 to June 2020 which was registered in the name of Samuel Miranda. Shruti Modi was the office manager who is again reportedly engaged by Rhea .
Let us now briefly look into each of the IPC sections Rhea has been charged with.

Detail allegations which have been made against Rhea Chakraborty in the FIR
Rhea was not allowing Sushant to shift from Mumbai and to visit his home in Patna. She was also not allowing Sushant to sign new films and was changing his staffs with her known associates. When Sushant objected, Rhea left the Bandra residence with Sushant’s money, credit card, ornaments, his laptop and some important documents. Rhea has also been charged with embezzling 15 crore rupees of Sushant. She blocked Sushant’s mobile number and threatened to leak about his mental illness in media. It is pertinent to note that Sushant’s father made these accusations only in the FIR filed on 25th July 2020, Rhea’s name was not mentioned anywhere earlier.
Besides the above mentioned allegations several other allegations have been made on the social media like Rhea doing black magic in Sushant’s home and registering three company in her name with Sushant’s money. It is also said that Rhea could not have hired an expensive lawyer like Satish Maneshinde had she not embezzled money from Sushant. Satish Maneshinde is the lawyer who represented earlier celebrities like Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan.
In the meanwhile renowned maverick politician Subramanian Swamy has shared one document in twitter on 30th July 2020 and enunciated that Sushant Singh Rajput did not commit suicide rather he was murdered. In the document Dr. Swamy has showed some of his analysis as to why he thinks that Sushant was actually murdered. It is pertinent to note that Dr. Swamy made similar kind of statement in case of Sunanda Pushkar’s death but a long investigation could not find a single evidence which could establish that Sunanda Pushkar was murdered. Dr. Swamy has pointed out that the ligature mark found on the neck of Sushant’s body does not indicate suicide and instead matches with homicide. Besides Dr. Swamy there are many fans and other people who are repeating the same thing that Sushant Singh Rajput could not commit suicide. It is understandable why people cant accept this but it is also undeniable that we must go with the evidences and not by emotions.
The post mortem of Sushant’s body was conducted in Dr. RN Cooper Municipal General Hospital and the cause of his death according to the post mortem report is Asphyxia which means death due to lack of supply of oxygen. This is normal in case of suicides by hanging. Let us now analyse the claim made by Dr. Swamy about the ligature mark.
Death caused by Asphyxia can be classified in three categories. Please note that both suicide and murder will leave a ligature mark on the victim’s neck including signs of protest in case of murder :-
- Hanging - suspending the body from a cord
- Manual Strangulation - murder caused by fingers, hand or by some blunt object causing suffocation.
- Ligature strangulation - strangulation using some cord like object without suspension
Now, if Subramanian Swamy’s claim is true then it must be that someone either forcefully hanged Sushant, used manual strangulation or ligature strangulation. If Sushant was hanged forcefully or was murdered then he would surely have developed some protest marks on his body and the same would have been discovered in his Post mortem report.
Let us now analyse various allegations which were made after Sushant’s death.
Within a few days of the unfortunate event, bid production company like Yash Raj Films, Karan Johar’s Dharma Production, Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures and Salman Khan Films were accused for banning Sushant Singh Rajput. These claims were supported by film personalities like Kangana Ranaut and Payal Rohatgi etc. While there was not a single proof to ascertain such allegation it is easy to understand that some film personalities were making such statements out of their personal ego and self interest. Reality check reveals that Sushant had at least three upcoming films and it is also to be seen that his last movies were all big hits. Amongst Sushant’s upcoming films there was one namely Rifleman, one with Anand Gandhi and another with Rumi Jaffery. We are not denying nepotism but nepotism is everywhere, it is mostly seen in case of Government matters. There are many successful actors in bollywood who despite not being a starkid could leave their mark. Take for example, Nawazuddin Siddqui, Pankaj Tripathi, KK Menon, Manoj Bajpai, Irrfan Khan who are all outsiders but have established themselves as the finest actors of Indian Cinema. Statements made by Kangana Ranaut are just not strong enough to be trust upon.
Allegation of embezzling 15 crore rupees by Rhea Chakraborty
Sushant’s Chartered Accountant (CA) Sandip Sridhar has made it clear in a conversation with India Today that he was handling Sushant’s financial matters for last one year and there was never such a big amount as rupees 15 crore in his client Sushant Singh Rajput’s bank account. Sandip Sridhar also rejected the claim that any transaction of big amount was made to Rhea Chakraborty during this one year.
Abetment of suicide IPC 108, IPC 306
This can be ascertained only after the investigation is complete. If a person asks another person to go and die and if the second person commits suicide, it may not turn out to be abetment of suicide under section 306 of the Indian Panel Code. If in the court of law it can be established that the person making provocative statement to the victim had prior knowledge that the victim may commit suicide then it will be a case under IPC 306.
Demand of CBI Inquiry into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput
Maharashtra Government is unwilling to probe a CBI inquiry as it is satisfied with the way Mumbai police investigating the case. It is to be noted that Mumbai Police has not yet registered an FIR and is likely to file it’s final report after completion of the investigation. Till date Mumbai police did not find anything which could point towards any kind of foul play in death of the 34 years old Sushant Singh Rajput.
After filing of the FIR in Patna, Bihar police has sent a team of four police officers comprising two Inspectors and two Sub-Inspectors namely Inspector Manoranjan Bharti, Inspector Kaiser Alam, Sub-Inspector Nishant Kumar and Sub-Inspector Durgesh Kumar Gehlot. The team has already appeared in Mumbai and has started investigation into the charges made in the FIR.

Amongst many statements recorded by the Mumbai and Bihar police, statements given by three persons namely Meetu (Sushant’s sister), Ankita Lokhande (Sushant’s ex-girlfriend) and Rhea Chakraborty (Sushant’s current girlfriend) are extremely vital as they have enlightened the incidents that took place between 8th June to 14th June 2020. These six days are the most important parts of the incident and possibly the mystery behind Sushant’s death lies in these six days.
In March 2020, Rhea Chakraborty came to Sushant’s Bandra based apartment to stay with him. Sushant’s another friend Sidharth Pithani was staying in the ground floor while Sushant was staying in the first floor. On 25th March 2020 lockdown was imposed by the Central Government to prevent spread of corona virus and this way March, April and the month of May were gone. Till 7th of June 2020 almost everything was normal in Sushant’s life, this is also corroborated as per the statements made by the other persons living in the apartment. The couple used to had some disputes which were sorted out mutually, this is quite normal for any couple.
In the early morning of 8th June 2020 both Sushant and Rhea had received a phone call and were informed about the death of Disha Salian the ex-Manager of Sushant Singh Rajput. Disha Salian left Sushant’s job a few months ago because she left the company she was working for. Rhea knew this company and it’s Rhea who engaged Disha as Sushant’s manager through the company concerned. In the intervening night of 7th and 8th June 2020, Disha committed suicide by falling from the 4th floor of her apartment. During police investigation the family members of Disha did not name anyone connecting with the death. Police investigation revealed that Disha took a large sum of money from her clients as advance and when the lockdown was imposed the concerned clients were pressing Disha for the advance which she was unable to return. So, financial pressure might be the possible cause of Disha’s suicide. It is reported that the amount is somewhere equal to Rs. 30-40 Lacs. Apart from this nothing could be found in the police investigation. Sushant was terribly shocked with the news of Disha’s death.
Later on the same day i.e. on 8th June 2020, Sushant and Rhea had some heated arguments which was heard from the ground floor. By midday the quarrel turned serious and Rhea packed her bags and baggage and left Sushant’s apartment saying that she won’t return ever. It was like a break up between the couple. These two incidents badly affected Sushant who was already under depression and was taking anti-depressive medications. Sushant then called his elder sister Meetu Singh (who lives in Mumbai) and told her about the shocking developments.
